Price is per person!

I'm so exhausted to work with the clients who think they can get a caricature of all their family plus distant cousins from photos for $25! You are ready to pay at TGIF $25 for a 6oz steak which you will digest and it will naturally leave your body forever! Why not get a personalized caricature that is a product of work by a talented artist (check our portfolios if you are not sure!) and will be in your family for years!
It's just ridiculous when people are asking for a discount because they "did not expect to spend so much for a characture" or they "have a tight budget"!  First of all, don't get it then. Second, do you try to get a bargain on anything you ever buy? Why us? Why artists? We don't want to deal with you! We want to do our job and get paid for it!
I'm at this point of my career when I don't want to spend my time politely and respectfully answering all your questions, catering to you, even giving you a discount or adjustment to my work just so you could dump me without a reply, just ignoring me, just leaving or telling me that I charge too much in your opinion! It is unfair, and I do not deserve it!
We don't have hidden fees like most companies you shop from. We put all the information right at our website and online store, so please read everything. Maybe you won't need to ask then. Or if you ask, please think of me as a person, and not as a machine that prints out original art!
I'm done!

Just an example of a request and the reply about the caricature the is $55 per person (pictures below):

"Hello I would like a caricature of my wife and I done. How much for one picture with the two of us on it? If you ate after a theme, maybe a farm with animals like goats etc.
Most of the others on eBay are much cheaper but I like your at better so would be in retested if you could come up with a competitive price."
"Sorry but $110 is to much for me"

Original painting on hardboard. Drawn with graphite pencil and colored with acrylic paints, this custom piece of art will be made based on the photos of people who you want us to draw. Since the painting is made on hardboard and varnished with high gloss varnish that protects the artwork from UV damage and dust, it needs no framing.
VERY IMPORTANT! The price for this item is PER PERSON. When you order this artwork, please buy as many items as you want persons to be painted. (In the first shown case - 3 items). You can choose between drawing several people on one board together or on separate ones. It will cost the same.
We welcome custom orders with themed backgrounds and personalized details added. Please message us to discuss what you have in mind! Additional charge will apply when ordering accessories or background to be added.

Mother's Day, my Mom's Day and the day of all mothers

Since the Mother's Day is coming up and my Mom just had her birthday, I remembered the paintings series I made of four generations of women in my family from my mom's side. I made them back in 2010 before I really learned anything in college about how to work with acrylics or how to mix colors.
I have never met my great grandmother Maria (first painting). All I know about her is that she was an amazing strong woman who raised her children without a husband who died at WWII, and being a village woman who couldn't read, she was great at playing chess, and loved and respected Stalin for getting out her country from war. She was able to provide for her family that way so that my grandmother Valentina (second painting) became a primary school teacher (first one to get higher education in the family).
Being a girl, she worked and studied during the war, and was so happy to finally receive the medal yesterday for her labor made for victory of Russia in war 70 years ago. She is still an energetic, feisty old lady who fights with her building and the court management for more pleasant living conditions and respect of community (we all consider it her important hobby). She gave birth to two beautiful and very different daughters one of which is my mom Lubov(the third painting).
I think I got a lot of my emotional and sensitive basis from her. Don't take it wrong, she is a revolutionary thinker and activist in her own way, she loves trying new things, traveling to unknown places and challenging herself in every way, for example simply living in Russia. However, she is an amazing natural poet, her Russian speech is so rich and beautiful that I can talk with her for hours and never get bored. She worked as an electric engineer for years while my brother and I were still young enough to go to kindergarten, but then she decided to sacrifice her career for our good education, Although sometimes she is getting sad that the most common thing people tell her is that she is a great mother, and not a professional who reached some heights in career, I think it is a truly rare quality that not many parents possess. The thing is - she really knows how to be a parent, how to love, to teach, how to  call on your conscience (she's particularly good at that one), how to make sure that her kids know what the right thing to do is and do it, and she is now an amazing wise grandmother to my little niece Margot. I only hope that I also inherited this quality from her and my dad (who is a great father as well, but I will tell you more about him before the Father's Day). I am a happy child of a beautiful love, strong family with close ties who survives through every good or bad event together. And even though for the last 8 years I have been living in another country, I am still tied, still with all my heart I am with them, with my dearest, loving and loved family, and particularly with my Mom.

It is empty inside of me, even though
movement of life is so unstoppable
and overpowering.
A part of me died
and I am handicapped now,
half-breathing, half-feeling,
half-thinking.
You are a wonderful song
I was listening to for the first time
that stopped suddenly, and
I will never know the end of it.
But I still have your tune in my head,
the memories of you laughing,
running carefree among silver trees,
talking with me,
so I will fill myself up
with the life you could have lived
and will live it the best I can
for you, my dear.

Make art not war!

I was printing my favorite design on different colors of T-shirts and realized that I could make a Russian flag out of them! Make art not war!

Happy St. Valentine's Day!

We just wanted quickly to congratulate all who experienced, experience or dream of experiencing true love! I am sure I included everyone! Just remember that love is not just a word that means something vague and corny. It is what you feel for something or someone that makes you want to be a better person, improve yourself, give back, embrace the world and live your life to the fullest! So if you didn't find what or who you love yet, we wish you to find it soon! Also, thank you for enjoying our art, posts and stories!

Valentine's Day, naturalization interview and stress!

This week is starting really intense for me! Yesterday night someone bought the Nude Torso picture of which I just posted previously. So today morning I was busy packing and preparing shipments for our clients. I always feel a little sad giving away or selling the artwork I love. But I think it should be this way, because otherwise I didn't create something worthy of my feelings, and that's just wrong. So, I said good-bye and let go.
The other news is that I just finally got the letter for an interview for my citizenship. However, I probably will need to reschedule, since Vic and I will be in Florida by that time. I am totally ready and cannot wait to become an American, but in my heart I will always belong to Russian culture.
Another event this weekend is Valentine's day, and we are offering this great little cheap caricature gift to everyone who loves or is loved - secretly I am hoping to get one from my hubby, but by the result we will find out whether he reads our own blog or not:

Happy Love Day to you this Saturday! Appreciate every little emotion you share, every little heartbeat spent together, because you never know when the next one is going to happen, if ever! Even if you are angry with each other, real love would never let go of you, and you will still sip his tea before giving it to him to know it's sweet enough and not too hot to drink.

Our art related to fitness and health! Improve yourself and be happy!

Just wanted to share with you our art related to fitness motivation, self-improvement and things that we consider fun! Both Victor and I do fitness off and on for many years. I just love doing exercises by Zuzka Light and Victor is fond of Crossfit. It contributes to our sedentary art life and keeps us fit! Besides, both of us try to follow Paleo diet that concentrates on consuming protein, which is both delicious and healthy!

I would like to start with announcing that Victor and I, those two artists whose blog you are reading at the moment, are moving out of Los Angeles, CA to Orlando, FL. We used to live there for a year after we got married, but then decided to go to live with Victor's family in California, Universe knows why. I mean, I like LA for lots of interesting places and businesses, for somewhat cold winter (in comparison with FL), for museums and education it gave me, as well as many great friends and family who we are sadly leaving now. However, we are very excited to go back to this holiday state where people are easy-going, less pretentious and just pure happy! We miss those beaches where you can actually enjoy swimming and tanning, those green grass dog parks where our babies are not getting dust all over them, that slightly cheaper rent that offers resort-level lifestyle for a good price.
We have a month for getting all things done here, and a little stressed, because we still have screen-printing fundraiser project awaiting ahead, and lots of old artwork needing to be sold, but it's all good! If you are interested in buying something made by us, ordering a caricature or a portrait in any technique, we are ready right now! Our eBay store and Etsy store are awaiting you! We take custom orders, ship art ourselves and soon will have screen-printing equipment for sale as well.
I'm not just mentioning it to promote Moloriki, but because not many people realize how much artists depend on stable sales. I have so many people watching our artwork on eBay for weeks, and they still don't buy it. We are very reasonable with our prices, but it's just kind of annoying to see someone watching me getting desperate trying to sell art and reducing and reducing the price, so they finally bid on it or offer their price, and sometimes not at all. I know that there are different reasons why people watch art on eBay, Etsy and never buy it, but I am sitting here online trying to promote it various ways instead of creating something new and beautiful for others to enjoy, and sometimes I question my choices. I am not good at marketing, sales, I suck at this... and I am still learning to do good art, but how can I live (even in FL) if I don't sell my own artwork?! Every artist asks themselves this question at some point and answers it somehow, but we found that if you want to make art and be called an artist, you need to learn skills outside your profession and keep going even if you feel like giving up. Believe me, both Vic and I gave up many times by deciding to have "a normal job", but only now that I'm selling art online, manage our business, I feel happier than ever! It doesn't mean that things don't piss me off sometimes in my job, but you are about to find out all advantages and disadvantages of artist profession here, so stay tuned!

So here we are, 4 years later... No, we were existing back then too, in fact, we are existing as Moloriki since 2009, but this blog was reincarnated several times, so HERE WE ARE AGAIN!
